Free download of crafty gemini fleece hat

Also, what stitch do you recommend? A wide zigzag? A straight stretch stitch? Just a regular straight stitch? I make these for chemo caps for the winter. I work on an onocolgy unit and the patients love them. I often use leftover Seahawks fleece. We love this pattern. Last year we made and donated 40 hats to Roswell Park Cancer Institute and this year we are hoping to up it to 50 hats. They love them there. This is honestly a great pattern! I measuerd first and thought it would fit to snug but now endet up following the original beacause my first trial was to big!

Thank you so much! It keeps saying my email is invalid. I have already signed up the newsletter. Is the pattern free or not? Or I have to buy the kit? I wanted to like this adult pattern, but it is too small. The video is great!

It was easy enough for an infrequent sewer to make in an afternoon. My head meauses 23 inches, hubby 24 inches. The band message 11 inches folded, so 22 inches. I noticed the band is not a rectangle but has a slant to it. Will this mess it up? I really like the video and how it is made. If you cut the fleece with the crosswise grain going across the headband part then it should still have plenty of stretch. Hope that helps. Thank you. Hi I made the fleece beanie and it has been claimed by my daughter.

I looked at her wearing it while we were out shopping today and I felt very proud. Thank you very much for a great pattern. Love the pattern but what I want to know is which stitch you use. When I stretch it to put on the stitches pop. Please let me know, thank you. Also, make sure you use a good quality polyester thread and not a cotton thread or old thread.

Both will break more easily than an all-purpose polyester thread. I have been making this pattern for a couple of years, and when I lost one of my hats the other day, I sat down and made myself a couple more of these. I was looking all over the Internet for a fleece hat pattern for my 15 and 10 year olds. This is perfect!

Stylish enough for older kids and teens. Thanks so much for the tutorial! Very cute hair, too, by the way! I just finished a hat for my grandson. This tutorial was simple and fabulous. Thanks for sharing! By the way, I pinned your tutorial on Pinterest so you might get lots of hits!

Thanks again! This is a fantastic tutorial!! Thank you so much! I loved it and was able to put together the exact hat I had hoped for my daughter. Vanessa, I just found this. I love it! You are awesome! My wife is a quilter, and is helping a friend complete 10 quilts for Christmas presents.

That produces somewhat of a scheduling problem, if I want to finish another project, This was my second sewing project. The first was a pair of pajama pants. No, actually, the hat was the third… I got a shirt that was my XL size in the body, but had 32 in. That made a great short-sleeved shirt! It is the best winter hat I have! Great tutorial; so far, I have made 3, and have enough fleece for another. What will they think of next? Men with sewing machines…do we call ourselves Seamsters.?

Thank you so much for this tutorial. I adapted the pattern to add ears, eyes and a mane of hair for little pony hats. They are adorable and I know I will have one happy grandchild on Christmas morning.

Your tutorial is so easy to follow, and great that if one gets a bit stuck on what to do next you can just call it up and watch it again. I am looking forward to more tutes from you. Pattern was perfect in the download. Watched the tutorial twice to make sure I knew the process. Put it together in no time at all. What a great hat for our grandson to find on Christmas Day.

Thanks for every thing! You are a sweetie! I made two of these today for my nieces, and they look great. I added pom-poms using the lining fleece to finish them off. I am french and I am a sewing beginner I began on september with no knowledges at all. I discovered your blog at the end of december and I wanted to make your fleece hat with ear flaps. Although I do not have the sewing vocabulary in english neither in french :P , I understand really well your explanations because they were really clear and I appreciated the step-by-step video where each step is well described.

With your advices, I bought a walking foot and it changed my life. I tried once to use fleece, and it was a disaster. Today is my first success with fleece, and I am proud of it. I will give this hat to my husband and make lots of them for me and my family.

Since coming across your tutorial and pattern for the earflap hat, I have made three, using polar fleece for the lining and felted wool for the outside.

They turned out so well! I am making one of these for my wife tonight. I love the way you teach and your pattern is awesome! So glad I found you! Thank you for the inspiration and your great tutorials! Love your new haircut, by the way!

I just finished making the fleece hat with ear flaps for my 9 yr old daughter — its so cute and she loves it! I had been looking for an easy fleece hat pattern with flaps and found your site.

Your tutorial was very clear and concise. I used some fleece leftovers I received from a fellow quilt guild member; one was white with flowwers and the other light green with white polka dots which I used for the inside. They are so easy to make, so incredibly cute and I can get 3 complete hats out of 1. Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your pattern! Thank you so much for the awesome video tutorial and precise instructions on the fleece hat.

I have made two for my grandsons. I am excited because it was easy and I will be making more. Thank you so much for this great pattern!! This came in handy at the perfect time, and I had a blast making it. I put a ball on top for extra baby cuteness. Thanks so much again! I am hoping it will post my pic like this. With having a disability, I am unable to attend classes outside of my home. Thanks, Vanessa! I love love love your tutorials. You have the amazing gift of being a great teacher which is a rarity. The ability to break down a concept and instruct it in usable, easy to follow steps is a rarity. On top of the fact that you are approachable, interesting, down to earth and real. Very non-intimidating.

I am so glad I found you several years ago. Your encouragement has been appreciated. So much easier to learn from a video than just pictures. You are a gifted instructor to have such clear communication and know just what to emphasize and explain to make the learning process so easy.

Thank you for sharing these videos. Vanessa, I could have used this video 10 years ago when I first started machine embroidery!
